Text message in a bottle?
The latest addition to Research In Motion's (RIM) family of mobile phones will come equipped with tones composed by a drumming legend.
Composer and founding member of The Police, Stewart Copeland, has been selected by RIM to provide the sounds for the companys BlackBerry Bold handset.
Apc reports that the company commissioned Copeland to create a range of sounds that will be pre-loaded on to the phone - and can be found in its Sample Songs folder alongside some accompanying album art.
The result is the Bold Theme, the Bold Alarm and some short pieces named Bold Ringtones - all of which were apparently written using Apple computers.
"Writing ringtones may be new to Copeland, but unleashing his inner geek isn't," the site says. "Copeland has long been a dab hand at the digital world and is an Apple fan who does all his composing on Macs."
Last year, Copeland announced along with the two other members of The Police - Sting and Andy Summers - that the band would reunite for an international tour.
